Design Analysis Skills
PTL employ advanced design and analysis methodologies, including 3-D multi-body mechanical simulation and FEA.

The extensive experience in the analysis of numerous and diverse engines enables PTL to carry out failure analysis and problem solving tasks.

PTL expertise is enhanced by a portfolio of in-house and third party analysis software which allow quick assessment of the design concepts, providing fast and effective response to the design team.

Valvetrain Analysis:

The analysis team at PTL has much expertise in the design of valvetrain mechanisms, and are able to optimise existing valve mechanisms or develop entirely new designs.

The team has patented a number of novel Variable Valve Trains including LATCHCAM ( a 2-step system) and OSCAM (a fully variable lift-and-period system); these systems have attracted much attention amongst the automotive OEMs who are seeking to meet increasingly challenging emissions legislation whilst still offering improved performance.
