Oscam:
General description:
OSCAM is a fully variable mechanical Variable Valve Actuation (VVA)
system with the unique advantage of providing full and independent
control of valve opening period and peak lift.
Further details:
OSCAM is a variable valve actuation mechanism, that provides a
wide range of lift and period variability and it is applicable to
both lever and in line operated valves.
The oscillatory motion of the cam is actuated, via a mechanical
linkage, by a small eccentric and is therefore positively controlled
in both directions, avoiding the need for a controlling return spring
and allowing high rotating speeds.
OSCAM is applicable to OHC gasoline and diesel cylinder head configurations,
and to heavy duty truck valvetrain arrangements, including “skewed”
systems. In addition to being a production solution, OSCAMS offers
a robust and flexible system for research of valve timing and lift
requirements for both gasoline and diesel engines.

Oscam VVT Testbed Development Tool
 |
OSCAM is a mechanical system which allows independent
control of valve lift and period applicable to inlet and/or
exhaust valves of gasoline and diesel engines and will soon
be made available as a testbed development tool. The attached
PDF document explains more about the system features and specifications.
We plan to offer bespoke or modular versions of the system
that we believe will be very cost effective.
