It has been part of PTL’s business strategy
to form partnerships with organisations with whom there is some
significant synergy. These have all been major players in the
engine/vehicle product development field, operating worldwide.
PTL has a long term partnership
with Southwest Research Institute, based in San Antonio in Texas,
USA. SwRI employs 3000 staff in 11 divisions. About 900 are
involved in powertrain/vehicle research and development. A strong
relationship has been built up over the last 4 years since early
2002. PTL has access to a wide range of technologies developed
by SwRI particularly exhaust emissions strategies to meet current
and planned regulations worldwide. SwRI also has extensive test
facilities for both engine, transmission and vehicles.
